6 and 7 months
I know I am so behind... what else is new! I never did Jett's 6 month post so I am doing 6 and 7 together! Look at my big man.... he is 7 months old. I will post a 6 month picture to compare as soon as I get them uploaded.
January 12, 2010
- You weigh close to 20 pounds (At your 6 month check-up you weighed 17lbs and 12 oz and were 27 inches long)
- You wear a size 3 diaper
- You wear 6-12 month clothes.. but some of those are getting a little snug!
- You have 4 teeth... 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. They are the cutest things I have ever seen.
- You enjoy sitting up and playing with your toys... You usually sit on the couch and play.
- Speaking of toys you LOVE to play and have a few that are your favorites... like your Fisher Price Mailbox you got for Christmas, your little rubber duck from Bass Pro Shop, and your blue rubber ducky that you got in your stocking.
- You love to cuddle especially with your mommy (which makes me happy)!!
- You give me kisses from the time you get home in the afternoon until the time we go to bed.
- You still love to be held and that's ok with me because one day you will be to big to hold.
- You smile ALL the time and your little teeth just shine!
- You still LOVE to eat... you have had every kind in stages 1 and 2 and love all of it except Green Beans, Peas, and Mixed Vegetables. You started eating Gerber's Yougurt last month and you think it is very yummy! You have had Banana, Strawberry, and Peach.
- Sunday January 10th was our last day to nurse so we started strictly bottles on Monday and you are doing GREAT! I knew you would though! You eat 4-6 ounces of Similac every 3 hrs.
- You are so curious and into everything. When we go to a new place you just look at everything to see what is going on!
- You have started dancing and it is the cutest thing I have ever seen. You bounce up and down and swing your legs. You even do this when you are sitting or riding in your car seat! Your favorite song at the time is "Fire Burning" by Sean Kingston... haha!
- You have officialy outgrown your Mr. Whale bathtub. You take a bath in the big bathtub or the kitchen sink and you are about to outgrow the sink. You still love your bath time!
- You are still such a great baby... so easy going and calm. You are happy and smiling all the time!
- You are a great sleeper during the night... you go to sleep around 9:30 or 10 and wake up to eat around 6 or 7 and you usually go back to sleep until around 8:30.
- You still love your paci.. you take it out of your mouth and bang it on your carseat when we are in the car.
- You are still a talker... you talk all the time and usually very loudly!
- You love to go places and be out and about... you are my little sidekick!
- You play Peak-a-boo and pat-a-cake all the time. You pull your blanket up over your face and hide and then peak-a-boo!
- You are a very touchy feely person... you rub and scratch your fingers on EVERYTHING!
- I can't believe that you are 7 months old... you are growing way to fast! I love and cherish every moment I get to spend with you and I thank God each minute of the day that he gave you to me!

2010... A Recap So Far
I can’t believe it is already 2010. We spent New Year’s Eve at the Fire Department with all of our fireman friends eating yummy food and playing Corn Hole. I know what you are thinking… crazy name but it is a really fun game! I really didn’t think Jett and I would make it to midnight but we did. We got home around 12:45 and finally went to sleep around 1:30. Jett woke up crying around 5:00 and started coughing and sounded VERY croupy. He started breathing funny and I thought he needed to see a doctor. I woke Neal up and told him I was going to take Jett to the ER and he thought I should call the doctors office 1st. I called Dr. Smith’s office and asked to speak to the nurse on call right away. The nurse picked up the phone… I am thinking her name was Bonnie. I am still pretty asleep at this point! She asked me his birthday and I said 06-12-1984… see what I mean. Here is our conversation:
Bonnie: “What is going on?”
Me: “He woke up crying, started to cough, was very croupy, and is now acting like he is having trouble breathing.”
Bonnie: “Ok… You either need to bundle him up and go sit outside for about 10 minutes or steam up the bathroom and sit in there. Is there any way that I could hear him breathe?”
Me: “Sure, I will turn the speaker on and put it up to him.”
She listens to him…..
Bonnie: “Ok… he sounds really bad. Is he turning blue?”
Me: (I am freakin’ out at this point) “No”
Bonnie: “You need to take him to the ER right this minute.”
I can’t tell you what the rest of the conversation was because I had totally checked out! I woke Neal up again and off we went. The doctor, who was awesome, said he had a bad case of Croup and he thought that the night air had helped him because he didn’t sound as bad as he thought he should. They gave Jett a dose of a steroid, Decadron, to decrease the inflammation around the Wind Pipe. I had my camera but didn’t take any pictures because I thought the ER staff would think I was crazy for sure! We made it home by 7:30 and the rest of our day was spent catching up on our sleep.
Saturday we just played around our house and took Neal’s mom out for her birthday and yesterday was lunch at Nanny’s!!! My favorite part of the week! Tonight I am going to make Taco Soup and Maddie and Kerry are coming over to watch the Bachelor….. YAY! I am so excited! I just knew Jake would be the next Bach.
